Year of issue 2024
Date of issue 2024.11.05
Christiane Seifert was today elected the new Chair of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) within the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT).
"We are delighted that our Bundesnetzagentur colleague, Christiane Seifert, will take on this important international role,"
said Klaus Müller, President of the Bundesnetzagentur.
The ECC lays the foundation for secure and sustainable communication in Europe and creates key framework conditions for both industry and consumers. It brings together ministries and regulatory authorities from 46 countries working towards the efficient use of radio spectrum, satellite orbits and numbering resources in Europe. The ECC also promotes common European positions, especially in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and at World Radiocommunication Conferences.
Christiane Seifert has many years of experience at the ECC. She has been Vice-Chair of the ECC since 2019 and has contributed to the European harmonisation of, for example, 5G mobile communications and WiFi in the 6 GHz band. Her areas of work at the Bundesnetzagentur have so far included the Legal Office, the Ruling Chamber for Electricity Network Tariffs and International Spectrum Management.
