Dr Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action: "As the regulatory authority, the Bundesnetzagentur plays a key role in security of supply in Germany and in the implementation of the energy transition, whether in network expansion or network regulation. I am delighted to know that these important and essential tasks are in good hands with Klaus Müller, who brings his experience as the head of an authority, as a political representative and as a consumer protector to the role. I wish Klaus Müller every success and all the best as President of the Bundesnetzagentur. I would also like to thank most sincerely his predecessor, Jochen Homann, who successfully led the Bundesnetzagentur for ten years, for his work and commitment throughout the past years."

"As President of the Bundesnetzagentur I will do everything in my power to ensure the energy transition is a success. We will maintain the pace in approving routes for major power lines and play our part in helping the development of renewables move ahead," said Klaus Müller, Bundesnetzagentur President. "Germany must also move faster in its digital transformation and to this end we will create a clear framework for rolling out fibre networks. We will strenuously drive the further expansion of mobile networks in Germany." Mr Müller added, "We want to strengthen competition in telecommunications, energy, post and railways so that, just like many companies, consumers can benefit from low prices. In addition, we intend to improve the Bundesnetzagentur's dispute resolution services and contribute towards more data transparency."

With regards to current events, Klaus Müller said, "The Bundesnetzagentur is closely monitoring energy supply in Germany. We are in close contact with the energy sector and will do whatever is necessary to ensure the security of energy supply. In our estimation the companies are taking the necessary measures to be appropriately prepared for any scenarios. There is no immediate risk to the secure supply of electricity and gas."
