House rules and guidance for our social media channels
Dear Users
Thank you for using our social media channels. Our house rules are intended as a guide to how users should behave to ensure that our channels provide a healthy environment for an open and lively exchange of views and discussion.
Breach of the rules may result in posts being removed and users being reported to the associated social media platform.
House rules
Respect
• Treat other people as you would like to be treated.
• Respect other people's views and do not try to force your personal opinions on others.
Content
• Make sure your comments are relevant to the Bundesnetzagentur's work. We reserve the right to remove any comments that are off-topic.
Lawful use
• Comments, nicknames and profile symbols must not be unlawful and in particular must not infringe or violate human dignity or personality rights. Comments must not be offensive, provocative, defamatory, abusive, vulgar, pro-violence, discriminatory, racially offensive, sexist or anti-constitutional.
Responsibility
• Users are wholly responsible for any content they post. Posts must not infringe or violate any third party rights.
• YouTube posts must not contain any links. Videos should not be longer than five minutes.
Misuse
• Our social media channels must not be used to advertise or promote any commercial or private services or products.
Responsibility for content
• We are not responsible for any content posted by third parties. Users posting on our social media channels automatically give the Bundesnetzagentur permission to keep the posts on the channels permanently.
• In the interests of transparency, we may share additional information from third parties, irrespective of our own views. This applies in particular to retweets on Twitter. We explicitly point out that this does not mean that the content reflects the views of or is endorsed by the Bundesnetzagentur.
Correct references
• If you copy content or images from other sources, please give the original source.
Responses
• We will try to reply to your messages as quickly as possible. However, everyone needs time for themselves, so please understand that we may not answer questions posted in the evening, on public holidays or at the weekend until the next working day.
