Key elements paper on rules to succeed the ARegV, StromNEV and GasNEV
The Gas Network Tariffs Ordinance (GasNEV) will cease to have effect on 31 December 2027 and the Incentive Regulation Ordinance (ARegV) and Electricity Network Tariffs Ordinance (StromNEV) on 31 December 2028. The process of developing rules to follow on from these ordinances therefore needs to start soon.
The Bundesnetzagentur presented its initial thoughts on possible changes to the regulatory framework in a key elements paper, which it published on 18 January 2024. In some instances, the paper makes specific proposals for changes to the regulatory rules, while in others it puts forward a choice of options.
Inaugural event
The Bundesnetzagentur has held an inaugural event in Bonn on 2 February 2024 to present the key elements paper, to which it has invited representatives of the network operators, the energy sector, academia, public authorities and the judiciary as well as employee representation.
