ITU
ITU - International Telecommunication Union
The Bundesnetzagentur represents Germany's interests as the competent administration at Geneva-based ITU's working group meetings and conferences.
ITU has three main areas of activity organised in "Sectors": Radiocommunication, Telecommunication Standardization and Telecommunication Development.
The ITU Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) discusses technological developments in all areas of radiocommunications, produces reports, draws up recommendations for the administrations, and undertakes studies to support the World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRCs). Decisions relating to more than one radiocommunication service are taken both at the WRCs and at the Radiocommunication Assemblies (RAs), which are normally convened at the same intervals as the WRCs.
