In­ter­na­tion­al Mo­bile Station Equip­ment Iden­ti­ties (IMEIs)

Each IMEI characterises an individual mobile station equipment (ME). IMEIs are needed by manufacturers and mobile radio network operators so that each ME can have its own number. IMEIs identify certain features of particular equipment and equipment types, which are then recognisable by telecoms networks.
