Legal basis

Under section 74 of the German Postal Act (PostG) if you work in the postal sector and notice or have information on a breach of the provisions of the Postal Act or any general provisions of social or labour law applicable in the postal sector, you can report the breach to us at the Bundesnetzagentur.

You can report a breach using the online form (see link below) or by post, telephone or email (see contact details below).

Data protection notice

With regard to the confidentiality of your identity as a person reporting a breach, particular account is taken of the duty of confidentiality, any exemptions from this duty, and the right for persons concerned to access their file, having regard to any applicable secrecy obligations, as set out in section 8, section 9(1) and section 28(3) of the German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG).

We record and process the reports and information we receive in compliance with these provisions.

The reports and information are

  • taken into account when we select the companies to be checked in accordance with section 7(1) sentence 1 of the Postal Act; and
  • passed on to other competent authorities if the information is relevant to their activities.

We are also authorised under section 74(4) of the Postal Act to process personal data as far as we need to in order to carry out our tasks.
